In September 2014, Digital Drama will be producing an audio visual exhibition for The Rose Theatre, Kingston to mark the centenary of the First World War.
The project will focus on the campaigning work of local writer and Nobel prize winner John Galsworthy, known best for the trilogy The Forsyte Saga. The author’s letters, poems and journals have never before been exhibited in his home town and will be on loan from the archives of Birmingham University. The collection will be displayed at the theatre alongside local memorabilia and recorded family stories from the home front in Kingston.
Digital Drama are recruiting a team of local volunteers to help with this exciting project, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Volunteers will be researching and recording local memories, finding artefacts and delving into the archives of Kingston during the First World War. We are recruiting volunteers from across the Borough of Kingston who have strong interest in local history, ability to work in a team and are available for a few hours a week between January and May 2014.
